Club Scrap Lock and Key Blog Hop

Today I thought I would share a simple way of resizing photos to fit in quick page layouts.  I know that some of you are having problems in making the leap into the digital world so I thought I would do a series of simple tutorials that may help.

Of course there are some wonderful resources in the forum as well.  You can find them here:

First grab your photo and a club scrap quick page.  For this tutorial I am using a quick page from Lock and Key and a photo that I shot on Wednesday 16th October.

You will see that there is a box waiting for your photo.  Once you have both the photo and and quick page open it is time to drag the photo onto the layout.  My next screen capture shows that the photo is definitely too small for the opening in the layout.

Next you have to resize and reposition your photo.  To do this click on the photo layer.  Doing that will highlight your photo and you will be able to resize.

Go to the edit menu and select transform>scale.  What you will see is the photo selected with "handles" on it.  Use the shift key and grab one of the corner handles and drag.  The photo will increase or decrease in size as you drag with your mouse.  Once you have the photo at the size you want just release the mouse and shift key.

At this point the photo is probably on top of the quick page.  All you need to do now is move the position of the photo layer to below the quick page layer and you are done.  To do this, in the layers palette just highlight the photo layer and drag it below the quick page layer.

You are now done.  Enjoy and your next stop on the hop is:
